Here We Are

Why here? Why now?

Mostly I’m hedging my bets against the collapse of social media. Social media always collapses and something simultaneously better and worse rises from the rubble.

I recently deleted Twitter from my devices because it was the only way I could cleanse my timeline of that one guy who is not amusing, entertaining, edifying or uplifting in any way. I open up Instagram about once a week—ever since they decided they really meant to be TikTok.

In the past I used to hang out on Flickr when it was a more lively place to share art and socialize with other art makers. I enjoyed Tumblr for a while till they got weird and decided they didn’t want people using their site and drove them off with sticks.

So anyway, with all this free time on my hands I decided to put up an artists site and think about next things while I try new things like Mastodon and whatever seems better than the rubble back there where all the good sites used to be.
